About Mrs. Peppermint Oil

A while ago, I was trying to find ways to help cut the cost of random things around the house. I don’t like to spend money, especially on household medicines. I don’t even like taking medicine – I’d rather be in pain than take something for it. To put something in my body with the possibility of side effects, and then having to take something else for those side effects? NO THANKS! My husband, on the other hand, is totally opposite. He will take medicine for anything, all the time.

My family was sick a lot one winter; we have never been this sick. We had moved to a different state at the beginning of a school year, and with all the “new bugs” I felt we just kept getting sick. Plus, with a large family it just seems to go in circles. We were all having stuffy noses and just a hard time breathing. With small kids in the house, I was giving a lot of steam showers, sitting in the bathroom with the door closed for what seemed like hours.

I decided to try to find something natural that would help my family. So my quest began…

I came across a recipe for homemade “Vicks” disk for the shower, but it had essential oils (eucalyptus, rosemary, & lavender) in it. Essential oils? Okay…What are they and where do I get them?

In researching the oils, I learned about their benefits and the way they can replace modern medicines in my home for sickness, rashes, bug bites, and more! No more putting chemicals in or on your body, or around your house for cleaning! I decided to buy my essential oils from dōTERRA and have since become a consultant.

I’m looking forward to sharing my stories – methods of use for essential oils and how they can help your family the natural way – in my coming posts. Thanks for joining us in this quest for natural living.
